HELLO SUMMER!!
2017 summer is in full swing and we can not contain our excitement! No matter what you’re doing this summer do what you can to get the most out of your time away from school!
Here are some summer tips for college students:
Make a short bucket list. Think about things you wish you had time to do during the school year. Write them down and start crossing them off your list. You’ll feel so accomplished by the time you’re back in school and you will be always ready to take on the next task!
Step out. If you’re getting bored with your daily routine, change things up! Instead of spending the day on the couch, get out and volunteer for a cause you care about, or try something new like an art class, cooking class or a new sport. Who knows - you might be the next TSwift or Gigi Hadid! :)
Travel. For those who have worked so hard for so long, you need a real break, prepare yourself for a vacation! Or if you’re someone who likes to get the most out of travel, consider studying abroad as a way to continue your education, learn about an unfamiliar culture, and explore a new region. This is definitely a great way to start off your summer and learn new things!
Get some sun. Did you know that a Vitamin D deficiency is closely linked to mood and depression? The warm weather won’t last forever, so be sure to soak it up while you can. Get out of the house and enjoy the beautiful weather (even though we live in Texas where it's summer all year round) – just don’t forget the sunscreen and the cute shades!
Reconnect. Spend time with loved ones. Take advantage of the opportunity to spend some quality time with your favorite people. Being away in college means you don't get that much time with your family so cherish it and enjoy listening to some of those cheesy family stories!
Recharge. Give yourself a break! After all, that’s what summer is for. Go for a walk, sleep, catch up on your favorite shows on Netflix (the office), or read a book. Don’t forget to devote time to yourself and your wellbeing.
